The 8th Annual TransRockies runs August 9-15, 2009 between Panorama Mountain Village and Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. It is an epic MTB stage race. This is a team event. ONLY TEAMS OF 2 RIDERS are accepted.
This year, the TransRockies is stepping up the intensity with TR3, an exciting new three-day solo event that will run concurrently with the first three days of the TransRockies.

MTB Stage

Cost: $1650 - $3950 per person ("depends on package":http://www.transrockies.com/trc/register/index.htm")
Course Description: TransRockies is legendary for some of the toughest, funnest, and most beautiful mountain bike rides in the world. We strive to improve the route each and every year, incorporating favorite sections from the year prior and searching for new ones that we can incorporate to improve the route. Route choices are highly subjective and we are the first to admit that one rider’s nirvana is another’s purgatory! Our routes generally include a wide mix of riding and terrain types so that there is something for everyone.

Portions of our route require significant maintenance, in addition to ground checking and GPS mapping. With much of the TransRockies route under snow as late as July, we sometimes are not able to finalize our route plan and publish final distance and elevation stats until just a few weeks before the race. The exact route details are kept under wraps until sign-in the day prior to the race start.

Total distance for the week typically ranges from 550–600 kilometres with elevation gain between 12,000 and 18,000 vertical metres. The longest stages may be as long as 110–125 km with the shortest as brief as 40 km, usually on the first or last day.

Please see the course map, distance and route information page for more details.
