It’s hard to believe but this is the 10th year for the Coolest 24 Race Against Cancer. This race is the nation’s largest 24hr MTB endurance cancer fundraising event. Over the last 8 years the Coolest 24 Race Against Cancer has raised more than $242,000 towards the fight against cancer. This one of kind 24 hour MTB endurance event attracts some of the top pro endurance riders who come and raise money alongside corporate teams, beginner and sport riders. Every racer, whether solo or team, has the opportunity to raise money with pledges and donations based on how many laps riders can do. This mountain bike endurance event is like no other 24 hour event and hosts some 2,000 participants, volunteers and spectators throughout the three day event. This is old school MTB riding, the Olmsted loop offers up a challenging course with 12.2 miles per lap and 1500 ft of climbing. Fast smooth single track, fire roads and a creek crossing that are friendly to full suspension, SS and hard tails. Nightfall brings some fun changes on the course. Sometime late after midnight the famous Sasquatch comes out trying to catch that rider that may be thinking of catching some zzz’s while riding their bike. The famous Cool aid station is half way on the course with music, lights and costumes to keep you going throughout the night. Don’t forget the “Memory Mile” pictures of loved ones from the past and present are placed along the portion of the course to honor them for their courage in their fight against cancer.
