|Super D, Time Trial|
These races pit individuals against the clock instead of against each other. They’re the most basic form of competitive cycling and the rules are simple: the athlete with the fastest time over a given distance is the winner. They are point-to-point races. As a race against the clock, results are often determined by fractions of a second. Riders start one-by-one at specific intervals, usually 30 seconds.
One of the safest forms of bicycle racing, the uphill time trial forces riders to be in total control with slower speeds as they ascend a climb.
