These races pit individuals against the clock instead of against each other. They’re the most basic form of competitive cycling and the rules are simple: the athlete with the fastest time over a given distance is the winner. They are point-to-point races. As a race against the clock, results are often determined by fractions of a second. Riders start one-by-one at specific intervals, usually 30 seconds.

Web registration is available. Opens on 2013-07-01. Closes on 2013-10-05.

Super D

Cost: $20 Pre-Registration or $25 Race Day
License: No
Course Description: Short for super downhill, this discipline is a hybrid of cross-country and downhill racing. Competitors start one at a time at the top of a mountain and traverse a long, winding, slightly downhill course. Challenging, yet not over the top technical, with slow and high-speed sections that come together with moderate obstacles. Super-D rewards the all-around bike rider. It is a balance of bike skills, fitness and even strategy. It’s the perfect mix of downhill and cross country racing packaged together into one fun run. Although Super-D is all about the downhill, it is very common and accepted to have minor uphill or flat sections. Super D differs from downhill in the sense that it doesn’t include sharp, technical descents, jumps or drop-offs and it is more advantageous to keep your wheels on the ground. You don’t need a highly specialized bike or equipment to have a good experience in a Super-D event.

Time Trial

Cost: $20 Pre- Registration or $25 Race Day
License: No
Course Description: Uphill Time Trial:

One of the safest forms of bicycle racing, the uphill time trial forces riders to be in total control with slower speeds as they ascend a climb.
