Originally started in 1976, the event has quickly become one of NorCal’s best mountain bike events. The Bidwell Bump™ is held in Chico, CA at Upper Bidwell Park. The event offers a four class Cross Country (“XC”) race and a Super Downhill (Super D) event for Pro and Expert riders. Check out the web site for more information.

Cross Country

Cost: $20 per race
License: Not required
Course Description: The Pro/Expert class course climbs North Rim Trail to B-Trail which descends 600 feet in under a mile. Riders turn onto Upper Park Road (fire road) for a short descent to Big Chico Creek where they cross and ascend 10 Mile House to Guardian. Riders then descend Guardian, connect onto South Rim, and finish at the base of the canyon at the old gun range. The single lap course is approximately ~12.5 miles

Cross Country

Cost: $20 per race
License: None required
Course Description: The Sport/Beginner class course climbs North Rim Trail to B-Trail which descends 600 feet in under a mile. Riders turn onto Middle Trail and descend for approximately 4 miles to the race start at the Easter Cross. The course is 9 miles of XC riding.

Super D

Cost: $20 per race
License: None required
Course Description: 2 P.M. Start. Race course starts at Green Gate (just off Highway 32), decends Guardian, connecting to South Rim, and finishes at the old gun range. Riders will descend approximately 650 vetical feet in just under 3 miles.
