The Stoopid 50 race itself is a great combination of forest roads and trails, with a 30/70 mix of road to trail. Starting at 9am Sunday morning, the race covers the bulk of the great trails between Penn Roosevelt and Greenwood Furnace State Park, in the gem of Rothrock, the Coopers Gap area. Yes, there is a pretty hefty 15 minute “Hike a Bike” mid race just after you pass the aid station for the 1st of two times, but the hike is well worth it. The course will take you on some trails never used in events before like Pigpile, Shittaka, and Brush Ridge. Expect ride times of 5-8 hours.
