The Tahoe-Sierra 100 is a solo and team stage race of a life time. This great first time event will take place in the Tahoe National Forest along parts of the historic Western States 100 Mile Trail and Tevis Trail.
This historic ultra endurance mountain bike race will travel along the trails and roads as did the gold miners, sheepherders and pack strings did in 1855. We will be calling on the best of the ultra endurance racers to come and challenge this great endurance event. Riders will pass through areas that no bike has ever gone before. The privileged participants will not soon forget this inaugural event!
A multi-day endurance event comprised of solo and team disciplines, the Tahoe Sierra 100 is bringing the long-desired sport of ultra-endurance mountain bike racing to California in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Team racers will compete on sections of the same course and cover a smaller 50 mile lap. Teams will start approximately 10 minutes after soloists embark on their long event. With the larger field this will give ample time for their positions to sort themselves out fairly. Members of each team will compete in a relay-style format by tagging the hand of the next team member after each lap is complete.
